Student Checking

This is a no minimum balance and no monthly service charge checking account. Your first order of blue safety paper checks are printed for free. A free debit card is available if you are 18 years of age. 

All checks will be held for safekeeping at the Bank of Milton and will not be returned in your monthly statement. A copy will be available when needed for proof of payment.


Requirements of Student Checking Accounts:

  1. Must be a High School or College Student.
  2. Proof of enrollment required yearly (student ID, report card, class or fee schedule).
  3. If proof of enrollment is not shown yearly, the account will be changed to a Classic checking account and charged accordingly.
  4. If under the age of 18, a parent must be on the account also.

All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules. The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest.
